Welcome JDA Members,
As the President of the International Desalination Association (IDA) for the 2011-2013 period, let me express what an honour it is to be associated with the Japanese Desalination Association (JDA). The JDA has been a regional affiliate of IDA for many years, and we have consequently benefited from the devotion to water reuse and desalination that the JDA members have demonstrated over these years.
Japan has been always a leader in desalination. Japanese companies have been involved in the development of the desalination projects since the very beginning. Nowadays Japanese companies are dealing with desalination in all sectors of the desalination business top to bottom. Japanese developers sponsor desalination projects, other companies act as turnkey contractors. Many Japanese suppliers are providing equipment for desalination projects, desalination banks are funding large infrastructure IWP and IWPP. All these activities are featured by commitment, dedication and reliability.
Most of all Japan has been always a model for research and innovation and has given to the industry great researchers that have contributed through their life dedicated career to innovate and develop.
I look forward to working closely with the JDA in the upcoming two years of my Presidency, to support desalination and water reuse applications and technology development in the Pacific. The leadership of the JDA is outstanding and I believe that together, we can make great strides to strengthen our organizations to better address the growing and diverse needs of our membership.
With warm regards,
