Japanese Orthopedic Manual Therapy(JOMTA) was established in 1988, to study
and disseminate orthopedics and to contribute to the development of medical
health welfare. The forerunner of OMT was called "The Japanese and
European Manual Medicine Study Meeting" and invited Mr. and Mrs. Kaltenborn
to hold the international seminar of Kaltenborn-Evjenth concept.
The Basic course is divided into 9 sections and takes 50 days. The advanced
course and Supervision takes 10 days each, following is a 2 days Last Exafominatin.
Now the members of the 9th course are continuing the Basic Course. 25 members
have received its DIPROMA in Japan now.
One of the aims of this association, was to become a Full Member of IFOMT
which is sub group of World Confederation For Physical Therapy (WCPT).That
is why we started action from 2005, and were accepted to Registered Interest
groups (RIG). After that, on 2007, we presented paper to the Educational
Commitee of IFOMT for judgement. On 11th June 2008, at the General meeting
of IFOMT in Rotterdam, we were accepted as a Full Member. In future, as
a delegate from Japan, we'll make more sustained improve of the Educational
Level of IFOMT.
Another aim is to improve quality and continually check the original
techniques of the Postgraduate Course in the study session and general
meeting once a year with the International Seminar (mentioned above). A
magazine is created and distributed to all attendees dealing with the minutes
of the meeting and other topical issue.
In the future, we have to put in order many problems, revision of organization,
educational examinations, action policies and so on.
In introducing JFOMT, I humbly seek your cooperation.
Thank you.
